Taken during the Video Game Carnival, at the Garden Gate, Aldershot.
Before ordinary people could afford video game consoles, such as the Atari VCS, Intellivision or ColecoVision, they would spend money for LED versions of the popular arcade games. This is gameplay screen for Astro Wars, made by Grandstand. The display case looks like a miniature version of a PDP-11, which makes you think you're going to play some version of Spacewar!, but is instead a take on Galaga.
I thought keeping the glow in the image would make this more impressive, so I kept it, rather than altering the levels in Photoshop to eliminate it.
