Art Competition?

Just had an interesting thought...I'm graduating soon, and I'd really like some artwork to commemorate the day

Why not have an art competition?

First of all, I need ideas - how many prize levels (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.) should I give, and therefore what/how much should I give away? Does anyone know if art competitions on FA and DA are popular, and do you get a heap of artwork as a result? Or should I not bother and just commission a few artists (maybe brush the floor to beg to tsukinoodle...it's been a while). If I did one anyways, it wouldn't start until June anyways, but best to plan ahead.

Sounds like a great idea but I'm not sure how they work either. Commissioning someone sounds like a good bet as well.

Maybe so...just never seen artwork of a graduate before and thought it'd be original.

yeah, might as well not bother - not got any idea how to advertise it nor how much I should put in the pot for it.

Probably better to commission some artists instead, unless I find 10-20 contenders
